Treatments

Our Treatments ~

In all our treatments we follow the current national infection control standards and use a fresh sterile instrument pack for every treatment.

First Appointment

This includes a thorough examination of your feet, taking a detailed medical history (including the medications you take), an agreed treatment plan and your first treatment.

Regular / Following Appointments

This is a routine podiatry appointment and includes treatment and any dressings needed. Treatment is usually finished off with a soothing foot rub.

Simply Nails

If you simply need your nails cut, this option may be right for you! Please ask the podiatrist at your First Appointment for details of this treatment option.

Diabetic Foot Screening

Sue offers Diabetic Foot Screening. People with diabetes should have their feet checked regularly - low risk diabetics every year, medium risk every three to six months, and high risk more frequently. There is no charge for this service if it is included as part of the regular treatment option.

Treatment for Cracked Heels and Heel Fissures

Cracked heels and heel fissures can be very painful and can easily become infected. Speed up recovery time with surgical grade superglue or steristrips treatment.

Verruca Treatment

Verrucae (warts) are a viral infection of your skin. Sue advises you about how to encourage your body's immune system to fight off the virus. Physical treatments include 60% salicylic acid paste and Falknors needling - research has shown that these are the most effective verruca treatments.

Biomechanical Assessment Treatment Options

Sometimes the way we walk can cause strains, aches and pains. A biomechanical assessment is an examination of the structure of your legs and feet and how they move in relation to the rest of your body.

Depending on your symptoms, and your budget, Sue provides a Simple Biomechanical Assessment and Prefabricated Insoles and Orthotics, and Casting for Custom Made Orthotics.

Nail Surgery

People need nail surgery for a variety of conditions. For example, an ingrown toe nail, an involuted nail or a very thickened nail. Before nail surgery, your toe is numbed (with a local anaesthetic) and either a slice of nail is removed or, sometimes, the whole nail. A chemical is used to stop the nail growing back. After nail surgery you will be offered redressing appointments until your toe has healed (usually 4 to 6 weeks). The price of this treatment includes dressings, for you to redress your toe at home.
